The Core Values of Agape-Home-Fellowship-International
- We are committed to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. He said: “While you go about life, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:19-20 We believe we fulfill the Commission of Christ when we:
- Love God
- Love each other
- Love our community
- Love the Kingdom
-
These are the “Core Values” of AHF.
- Not only do we believe we will fulfill the Great Commission when we follow these Core Values, we believe the church will grow and that AHF will grow.
- First of all, we must “Love God.” God and His Son, Jesus Christ, must be our top priority. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 says: “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” This is how we must love God. When we love God this way, everything else will fall into place.
- Next, we need to “Love each other.” Selfishness needs to not be a trait found in the church. Philippians 2:3 says this, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
- Third, we must “Love the community.” We read in Matthew 9:10 “And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples.” Do we look at people as they are…or what they can become in Christ?
- Finally, we must “Love the Kingdom.” We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 3:8-10 that “He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder, I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.”
- When we Love God, love others, love our community, then we really can’t help but love the Kingdom. See, it really doesn’t matter where the growth occurs. All that matters is that the Kingdom grows. If you can so a seed and the growth occurs on the other side of the world, that should cause your heart to rejoice. THAT is loving the Kingdom!
